Talking to strangers online: chat safety

Meeting someone new should not require sharing personal information. Use these controls and precautions while chatting on Anamaak. The public rooms and private text chats are free; someone claiming you must pay to unlock an Anamaak chat is misrepresenting the service. The service is for adults aged 18 and over.

Use a nickname and protect personal details

A nickname keeps your real name out of your display name, but it is not a guarantee of anonymity. Do not share your home address, phone number, passwords, OTPs, financial details or identity documents. Other users may copy or screenshot anything you send.

Understand public and private conversations

Public messages can be read by people who enter the room, including recent room history. One-to-one messages are associated with the participants' chat identities, but are stored on our server and are not end-to-end encrypted. Read the Privacy Policy for data handling and retention.

Block an unwanted chat identity

Open the user's options from their avatar or message and select Block user. Private messaging between those identities is disabled, and their public messages are hidden from you. You can unblock them from the available user options. Blocking is tied to the chat identity: someone entering with a new identity is not covered by the previous block.

Report abuse

Email official@thebluebamboo.in with the subject Anamaak report. Include the room or conversation, relevant nicknames, date and time, and a short description. Include only the message details needed to identify the problem. Do not redistribute illegal material. Reports use email; the site does not promise continuous human monitoring.

Be careful with strangers and links

Display names, age declarations and selected genders are not independently verified. Avoid suspicious links and requests for money or login codes. Leave a conversation if it makes you uncomfortable. Harassment, impersonation, scams, exploitation, doxxing and spam violate the Terms.
